Oilography is a web-based program providing systematic Oil Sample Analysis Management:

1)  Management of sample points, interval, and lubricant ID

2)  Management of sample labels and shipment to lab

3)  Management of oil lab analysis results in an interactive report

4)  Secondary sample analysis by customized alarms and consultants

5)  Communication of oil analysis-based work request to reliability and maintenance management systems

To get set up, your sample point database is usually downloaded by your oil lab(s) into Oilography.  The sample point data is entered by the lab as samples are performed.  You can access the download protocol at the web address below:

OILOGRAPHY TERMS

Site - A submission and reporting group, usually a sub-plant or facility.

Company - Group of related sites - for example, a company may contain several sites.

Points - Total oil sample points defined in the Oilography database.

Un-reviewed Samples - These are samples which require the site user to review and assign a severity before the sample is accepted for the sample point.

Most Recent Sample - This is the most recent data for a sample point, but does not include un-reviewed samples.

Location Description - This is the functional location of the sample point.  This name should describe the asset component and setup/resource.  Example:  Boiler Feed Pump 1A - motor - inboard sump.

Equipment Description - This describes the physical equipment installed at the functional location.  Example:  Westinghouse - 1500 HP - synchronous motor.

Lab Sample Code - Sample ID.  An identification number for each unique sample data set.

Lab Sample Point ID - Unique identification for sample point.

Status - Severity level assigned by lab or site review analyst.

USER SET-UP AND PERMISSIONS

Login user name, password, and user permissions are set by 24/7 Systems.  The designated site administrator should e-mail 24/7 Systems with additions or changes to user set-up information.

Upon Login, the status page displayed shows how many un-reviewed samples are present.

SAMPLES AWAITING REVIEW

Oilography logic is typically set up to provide any samples retrieved by the Lab, with alarm status, to be placed in the 'Samples Awaiting Review' state.  From the 'Samples Awaiting Review' tab, the oil analyst selects the point to be reviewed and clicks the report icon .  This action brings up the interactive oil report with the latest lab results.

The 'Edit Sample Point Schedule Information' icon, brings up the 'Sample Point' screen which is discussed later in the section on 'Sample Points & Scheduling'.

* Charts

To select and view chart groups:

1)  Left click at bottom of screen (screenshot above). 

2)  Left click the down arrow ;

3)  Select preferred 'Location Chart Group'.

4)  Click on 'Apply' .

6)  If the system seems sluggish, hit 'F5' (keyboard) to refresh the screen and view the charts.

Charted information to be viewed can be changed by clicking the 'Selected' box for all information you want to view and/or hide.  Click 'Save' .  New 'Chart Groups', if needed, can also be added by contacting 24/7 Systems.

  * Comment button

1)  Left click the 'Add' button to open 'Add Comment' screen.

2)  Left click arrow in 'Pick comment type' to open drop-down box.

3)  Left click to select comment type.  Type comments in 'Add Comment' box

4)  Once comments have been added, choose next action from buttons at bottom of screen.  Must left click one of the 'Save & . . .' buttons or the comments will not be saved!

 

  * Review status button

1)  Left click the 'Review Needed' button to open review screen.

2)  Left click appropriate 'overall' condition from the drop-down box.  Left click 'Reviewed' to finish.

The overall severity levels are configured for each site based on your specifications.  The configuration designates which severity levels trigger a 'Tango Condition Entry'.

Enter appropriate information.  Click 'save' or the information will not be saved.

MOST RECENT SAMPLES TAB

This tab provides the reviewed results for all sample points defined for the site.

The 'Search Tool' (right side, top of page) assists in finding a specific sample point or group.

1)  Left click 'Search Tool' to open the 'Search' screen.

2)  Enter appropriate information.

3)  Left click 'Search Tool' beside the information box.

TASK TAB

The 'Task Tab' provides the ability to create a new task or open a scheduled task and mark points sampled.

Add Task

New tasks may be defined with the 'Add Task' button.  This allows task definition information to be added.

1)  Left click 'Add Task' to open entry screen.

2)  Type information in appropriate boxes.

3)  Left click 'Save' .  Information will not be saved until the 'Save' button is clicked.

Task History

1)  Left clicking 'Task History' allows the user to display previously closed tasks by opening the Oil Collection History' screen.

2)  'Create Date' allows user to search the range based on the date the collection group was created.

3)  'Close Date' allows user to search the range based on the date the collection group was closed.

Cancel Sample Collection From Group

  - Cancel the sample collection from the group.

SAMPLES AT LAB TAB

This tab lists all samples currently at the lab.  Once a sample's results are received into Oilography, the sample is removed from the 'at lab' status.

SAMPLE POINTS & SCHEDULING

This tab allows the user to 'add/edit' sample point information and assign points to a task or define an individual sample individual sample interval.

Within this view, the user can change the columns displayed by:

1)  Left click in upper right-hand corner of 'Sample Points & Scheduling' screen to open screen configuration form.

2)  Click in the check boxes to select/deselect information to be viewed.

3)  Left click 'Save' or the information will not be saved.

4)  Left click in upper right hand corner to close configuration screen.

 

 

 

Add/Edit Sample Location:

1)  Left click to edit 'Sample Point' Schedule Information.

2)  Type in all pertinent information.

3)  Must left click or the information will not be saved.

4)  Left click to view latest 'Oil Report'.

5)  Left click to print sample label.

 

MAPPING AN OILOGRAPHY SAMPLE POINT TO TANGO

 

To map an Oilography "Sample Point' to Tango:

1)  Left click on the 'Samples Awaiting Review' tab.

2)  Left click on the gray Tango icon to open the search screen.

3)  Type the name of the 'Location' from the Tango Location Tree and click search.

4)  The Location mapping screen will open.

5)  Left click to associate location with the sample point.

6)  Once the location is mapped, the Tango icon will be turn red.

7)  Once a location has been mapped, it will appear in the Tango Integrated Condition Status Report and can be found in the Tango Location Tree (examples below).
