Equipment lifecycle
management is a reliability improvement strategy for actively
managing critical, high value equipment to achieve the highest
reliability, lowest lifecycle cost and minimum production loss.
Equipment lifecycle management allows each piece of equipment to
be managed for best reliability performance plus it allow the
calculation of reliability patterns across an equipment type or
plant area. This provides patterns of top root causes of
failure, mean time between failure, and cost of failure, which
can be used to alter plant procedures in order to lower cost.
The Tango™ equipment management
module provides the plant with an equipment lifecycle history report and
a location life history report. The beige row at the top reveals
all known information about equipment design, including linked
documents. The lower grouping of rows contain all known lifecycles
stages for the equipment – a yellow row indicates purchase information,
blue indicates spares status, green indicates service location, beige
indicates repair information and a black row shows scrap status.
Benefits of Tango™
- Easy and standardized entry of
equipment lifecycle events, such as installations, repairs and stores.
- Helps in determining if a problem
is equipment related or location related.
- Provides focus on reliability and
lifecycle cost improvement.
- Increases machine reliability
through the systematic application of root cause of failure analysis
using historic failure patterns.
- Assists in managing repair
vendors.
- Calculates reliability metrics,
such as MTBF and top causes of failure.
